Toledo was named Toledo in 1881, 142 years ago and Toledo was incorporated on October 10, 1892, 131 years ago.
It’s time to celebrate Toledo’s Birthday! A party and fund raiser, are planned, for the Future Toledo History Museum.
WHEN: Saturday, October 7, 2023, 4 – 8 pm.
WHERE: Steamboat Landing (Toledo’s Event Center)
WHO: Everyone, all ages.
WHY: Fund raiser for the Future Toledo History Museum and to increase membership.
HOW MUCH:Admission will be by Donation: Cash or Check (to the Toledo Historical Society) or donate something for the Future Museum: old photographs, old newspaper, yearbook, poster, artifact (clothing, butter churn, flags, bottles, radio, tools, dolls, art, etc)
WHAT: Everyone will dress up in attire for their favorite Decade (1820s – 2020s). For example:
Pioneers, HBC workers, French-Canadian trappers, Cowlitz Tribal members, Mountain Man or Woman, priest/nun, Steamboat traveller, a snake oil salesman, WWI Doughboy, Suffragette, Wobbly, Toledo businessman/businesswoman, Cheesemaker, Roaring 20s flapper, bootlegger, Depression farmer, logger, WPA worker, WWII soldier, Home Front worker, the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and into the early 21st Century.
FOOD: Chris & Dan Gorten – appetizers; Birthday Cheese Cake; Homemade pies: berry, apple, pizza, meat, etc.; Non-alcoholic drinks: root beer, apple cider, tea, coffee
ENTERTAINMENT: Live Music; Old Films; Dancing; Door Prizes.
HISTORIC EVENT: Mayor’s Proclamation.
